Professor (Dr) J. M. Hans earned a Gold Medal in MS ENT from the esteemed institute, PGI Chandigarh. He introduced the Veria technique for Cochlear implant surgery two decades ago in India, successfully conducting over 3000 cochlear implants. Pioneering the auditory brain stem implant in children, he holds the distinction of being the first ENT surgeon in India to initiate this procedure. His mentorship has extended across India and SAARC countries, guiding numerous ENT surgeons.
Formerly, he served as the Professor and Head of the ENT department at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. With fellowships from the House Ear Institute (USA) and Bionic Ear Institute (Australia), Prof. (Dr). J. M. Hans also held the esteemed role of ENT surgeon to the Honble Prime Minister of India. Recognized for his contributions, he was honored with the Padmashri by the Ex-Hon’ble President of India, Shri APJ Abdul Kalam in 2005.
Offering specialized solutions, he provides Bone Anchored Hearing Aids (B. A. H. A), Bonebridge, and Vibrant Soundbridge middle ear implants for patients with hearing impairment.
Presently, Prof. (Dr) Hans directs the Dr. Hans Center for ENT, Hearing care, and Vertigo in New Delhi.
